Why Rob Winger DJ

Moving people since 2003

The microphone is the risky part

Anyone can play music. The MC is the job that decides whether a reception runs or stalls — and you have been to the wedding where it stalled. I’m an award-winning public speaker with over 6,500 speeches, presentations and workshops behind me across three continents, and Toastmasters ATM-B and CL credentials. Your night is not where I learn to hold a room.

Two continents, one career

DJing since 2003 — ten years in Australia, and here in Ohio ever since. Before that, radio DJ, recording studio tech and karaoke host. That’s where the three-continents figure above comes from, and I don’t know another DJ competing for your date who can say the same.

You are not being assigned a different DJ

Larger companies sell you a package and tell you later which of their DJs turns up. I’m the person you email, the person who plans your night with you, and the person behind the decks on the day. Same person, start to finish.

How booking works

Build the package, don't pick a tier

Most companies hand you five or six fixed packages and let you work out which one you dislike least. Want one feature? Buy the whole tier it’s bundled into, and pay for everything else in there too. I do the opposite.

1. Start from a base

One base package for your kind of event — wedding, party, corporate or karaoke. That’s the night covered.

2. Add only what you want

Uplighting, ceremony microphones, a custom monogram, a second venue, subwoofers, an audio guestbook, karaoke on top of the reception. Take the ones that matter to you and leave the rest.

3. Mix and match to compare

Finish a build and the total price comes straight back, free. Change something, build it again, and compare the two side by side. Most people put together several before they settle on one, and nothing is committed until you book.

In their words

Rob did an incredible job at our wedding! He went above and beyond what we asked him, which already involved hanging and lighting a spinning disco ball, MCing, and running a karaoke after party… He was also incredibly helpful in the planning process, always available when we needed him and giving us access to his planning forms, which were super useful.

Kyle M. Wedding · SanaView Winery, Champion, Pennsylvania · August 2026

We were debating back and forth on the value of a DJ and then we met Robert and our mind was made… Between a very coordinated ceremony and a dance party to go all night, we had the best day ever.

Kaitlin S. Wedding · Hines Hill Campus, Peninsula, Ohio · July 2025

His website was very helpful prior to the event for organizing the night. He is exceptionally professional, knew how to read the room with timing of music and genre, he’s a great MC… Highly recommend the added lighting packages and karaoke which really made the night a lot of fun and special.

Sarah E. Wedding · E.O.U.V. Club, Novelty, Ohio · May 2026

He put the timeline into play perfectly. My wife and I could not have had a better time and Rob was a huge part of it. He was fun, professional, and absolutely crushed it. The dance floor was packed all night.

Hosted karaoke

The part of the night nobody else offers you

I came to this from radio, a recording studio and years of hosting karaoke. It’s a show I run, not a machine I switch on and walk away from.

Guests request from their own phones

No paper slips, no line at the front. I put a show code up on the screen, your guests type it in with their name, and they search the whole catalog from their seats — across a lot of different karaoke brands, so most songs come back with several versions to pick from. They send it over and I work them into the rotation, so the same three people don’t take over the night. They can leave a note too, like “I’m singing with Debbie.”

Three ways to book it

As a karaoke party in its own right, as a series of shows for a venue, or added on to a wedding reception or private party once the formal part of the night is done.

Browse the karaoke catalog

  • A barn reception before guests arrive. String lights run along the beams overhead, the walls are washed amber by uplighting, a curtain of fairy lights hangs behind the sweetheart table, and a monogram is projected on the far wall beside the lit DJ booth.
  • A packed dance floor under a tent at night. Around forty guests of all ages are caught mid-step in the same move, arms swung across their bodies, while string lights and colored stage light play across the white canopy overhead.
  • A DJ booth set up under a vaulted stone ceiling in a downtown Cleveland event space. The booth facade is backlit with overlapping arcs of pink, blue and white light, beside an ornate brass gate and a hanging lantern.
  • A wedding ceremony in a woodland chapel with no walls and no roof. Two ivy-wrapped columns topped with white roses mark the head of a gravel aisle, guests sit on dark wooden benches under a full green canopy, and a white cross draped in fabric stands at the far end. There is no building and no power line anywhere in sight.
  • A couple during their first dance on a white floor, in front of a large custom monogram projected onto the ballroom wall above a candlelit sweetheart table.

Start with the date

It’s the one question that decides everything else, and it takes a second to answer. Take a look at the calendar — no details, no form, nothing to fill in.
